Levolux Shapes Up At IQ Winnersh

SEGRO's IQ Winnersh development pushes the boundaries of urban eco-architecture by embracing the latest technology, including a custom Solar Shading solution, designed and installed by Levolux, the UK's leading specialist. In total, 211 fabricated perforated aluminium louvres were installed vertically, fixed at regular intervals in varying angles to provide shade to exposed windows on south, east and west elevations. Fabricated from extruded aluminium components, each louvre features a perforated skin with an openness of 40%, fixed within a box section aluminium support frame. The perforated louvres are designed to protect glazed areas by reflecting and absorbing the sun's rays, while allowing natural daylight to filter through. This prevents excessive solar heat gain, particularly during the summer months, helping to maintain a naturally cool, comfortable environment, with less need for air conditioning.
